Rick Warner’s early career included the study of Mime.
After many concerts, street performance and workshops,
he began teaching Master Classes at various colleges
including Sara Lawrence, Pfeiffer College, and University
of Kentucky.
Acting study began at HB Studios. Then classical training
and performance at CSC Repertory in New York. This included
stage fencing, movement for period plays (manners), and ballet.
Further acting study continued at The Warren Robertson Studio
in New York with Michael Karm and Larry Moss.
It was during that time, in the middle 70’s, when the opportunity
to join an improv troupe came about.
The group was “Off The Wall” and they performed at the Riviera Café
on Sheridan Square.
The group moved to Los Angeles and became "The Wallnuts".
Not wanting to leave the group, Rick went with them. They performed
at the Comedy Store on Sunset Boulevard.
Rick’s training in Los Angeles included Harvey Lembeck and Alan Miller.
In the early 80’s, Rick moved Richmond, Virginia and opened an
acting school named "The Acting Lab". Classes offered included:
Voice-over class, Improvisation, Commercial TV class, Acting, and Scene Study.
In 2001, Rick began teaching "Acting for the Camera".
Because of his individual attention to each actor, he is able
to offer this class to many different acting levels, including beginners.
